We are looking for an Assistant Kitchen Manager/Cook to join our team at White Oaks! The Kitchen Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the kitchen in order to maintain the highest quality of food product and service to all residents. This individual will have the opportunity to create dining experiences with varied menus. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversee and assist the preparation and cooking of food by cooks and other personnel.
  • Maintains food and cost on a daily basis.
  • Strives to maintain a safe working environment through prevention of accidents, the preservation of equipment and the achievement of safe working practices.
  • Visit with residents at each meal when available and ensure remarkable service.
  • Ensure compliance with HACCP, local health department regulations and residence policies and procedures.
  • All other duties as assigned

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Associate's Degree in Culinary Arts or an equivalent combination of education and food preparation experience in a related field.
  • Three to five (3-5) years of experience in food service operation and management.
  • Obtain and hold local and state required food handling/supervision/sanitation licenses and certifications.
  • Understanding of OSHA standards and fire & safety procedures.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Experience working in a senior living community
  • Safety and fire codes
  • Supervisory or management experience
  • Knowledge of nutritional requirements for older adults
  • Prior experience with menu planning, food purchasing, and table service
